UNIPORT Senate Elects Three New Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The Senate of the University of Port Harcourt has elected three new Deputy Vice-Chancellors following the expiration of the tenures of their predecessors. The elections took place during the 488th Extraordinary Meeting of Senate held earlier today.

Professor Chukwudi Onyeasor was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), succeeding the former DVC who has completed his statutory tenure.

In a similar development, Professor Rosemary Ogu was elected as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), bringing her rich academic and administrative experience to the role.

Also elected was Professor Angela Frank-Briggs as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Development.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, congratulated the newly elected Deputy Vice-Chancellors and expressed confidence in their capacity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and advancement of the institution.

These elections are part of the university’s routine succession process aimed at ensuring continuity, excellence, and effective leadership within its governance structure.
