Students of the University of Port Harcourt, particularly those in the Pre-degree and Certificate programmes, held a solemn funeral procession today in honour of their late colleague, Miss Zalmon Beatrice Ebirien.

She was one of the victims of the recent tragic motor accident at Rumuokoro, which also claimed the life of a 300-level student from the Department of Economics.

The emotional tribute drew a large crowd of grieving students who came together to mourn, reflect, and celebrate the lives of the departed.

Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, expressed heartfelt condolences and urged the university community to find comfort in the memories shared, while drawing strength from one another in this difficult time.
