University of Abuja Professor Titus Sunday Ibekwe Elected Chair of Research and Innovation at COMS-A

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) is pleased to announce the election of Professor Titus Sunday Ibekwe, Provost of the College of Health Sciences, as Chair of Research and Innovation at the Consortium of Medical Schools in Africa (COMS-A).

 

Professor Ibekwe's election took place on March 25, 2025, at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda, during the COMS-A General Congress. He will serve in this position for the next two years.

COMS-A is a league of accredited medical schools across Africa, aimed at promoting and standardizing medical education. As Chair of Research and Innovation, Professor Ibekwe will play a key role in shaping the consortium's research agenda and fostering collaborations among member institutions.

Upon his election, Professor Ibekwe expressed his delight, stating that the election reflects the trust that members have in his capacity.
