The University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) recently benefitted from a generous donation of sanitary pads from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a non-profit organization founded by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria. The donation was facilitated through Dr. Mrs. Gloria Diri, wife of the Bayelsa State Governor.

The University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) recently benefitted from a generous donation of sanitary pads from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a non-profit organization founded by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria. The donation was facilitated through Dr. Mrs. Gloria Diri, wife of the Bayelsa State Governor.

Receiving the items on campus, Registrar Dr. Akpoebi Adesi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for her commitment to supporting the girl child, particularly in higher education institutions like UAT.

Her Worship Christiana Ebobrah, wife of the Vice-Chancellor and President of the UAT Women Association, distributed the sanitary pads to female students, praising RHI and Dr. Gloria Diri for their efforts in promoting health and wellbeing among students. She also commended the Patron of the UAT Women Association for championing the welfare of girls, boys, and the elderly in Bayelsa State.

The initiative, part of RHI’s “Flow With Confidence” campaign, aims to educate young girls on menstruation, personal hygiene, and to dispel myths surrounding menstrual health. The recipients expressed excitement and gratitude, sending warm regards to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the Renewed Hope Initiative, and Dr. Gloria Diri for their support.

The Renewed Hope Initiative is dedicated to lifting individuals out of poverty through education, empowerment, and compassionate support, with a focus on creating opportunities for the girl child.
