University of Ibadan Vice-Chancellor Urges Graduates to be Worthy Ambassadors

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, has charged the institution's first-degree graduates to be worthy ambassadors of the university as they venture into the world.

Speaking at the 2025 convocation ceremony, Professor Adebowale emphasized that the graduates' degree marks the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and impact, and urged them to navigate the challenges ahead with courage, creativity, and integrity.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university's commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and relevance, and noted that despite economic and infrastructural challenges, the University of Ibadan remains a beacon of intellectual leadership and national pride. He cited the achievements of its alumni, who have made significant contributions to Nigeria's development in various fields.

The Commencement Speaker, Dr. Abel Kehinde Adegoke, an alumnus of the university, counseled the graduates to carry the power of resilience with them, emphasizing that it is essential for overcoming obstacles and achieving greatness. He urged them to be adaptable, dedicated, and committed to serving society, and to let the University of Ibadan spirit of excellence, integrity, and service guide them in their future endeavors.
