Usman Danfodiyo University Debate Club Emerges Victorious at Caliphate Debate 5.0

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University Debate Club (UDC) has emerged victorious at the Caliphate Debate 5.0, held on December 4, 2024, in Sokoto State.

The UDC team, representing Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), won the top honors, including Best Team, First Best Speaker, and Second Best Speaker awards.

The Caliphate Debate is an annual competition that brings together tertiary institutions in Sokoto State to compete in a debate tournament. The event aims to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and intellectual discourse among students.

UDC President, Umar Faruq Olanrewaju, expressed his elation and pride in the team's victory, stating, "Words cannot express how happy I am! The representatives have made me proud, and we all made UDC proud beyond words."

Issa Islamiyat Oluwabukola, who emerged as the Second Best Speaker, attributed her success to her relentless training, prayers, and determination. "I give thanks to Almighty Allah for making it possible today," she said.

The UDC's victory at the Caliphate Debate 5.0 is a testament to the team's hard work, dedication, and intellectual prowess.
