205 Bag First-Class as UNIMAID Graduates 20,164 Students

University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is set to confer degrees on 20,164 students, including 205 with first-class honours, during its 25th convocation ceremony on November 29, 2025.

The graduating class comprises 13,624 Bachelor's degree recipients, 1,699 Diploma students, 1,020 Master's degree holders, and 66 PhD recipients.

UNIMAID's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Mele, highlighted the university's resilience and growth, noting its evolution from two faculties in 1975 to 17 faculties, a College of Medical Sciences, and 12 specialized research centers.

The university will also launch an endowment fund to support research, infrastructure, innovation, scholarships, and financial sustainability. Three exceptional Nigerians will be honored, and Professors Emeriti will be appointed .
