ABU Faculty of Social Sciences Expresses Gratitude to Management for Support

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Shamsuddeen Mohammed, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) for their unwavering support.

The appreciation was conveyed during a luncheon and award ceremony organized by the Department of Political Science and International Studies to honor staff members for their outstanding accomplishments.

Professor Mohammed acknowledged the crucial role played by the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management in the faculty's academic excellence. He congratulated the newly promoted professors and PhD holders, encouraging them to continue conducting research for their progression and the betterment of the department.

The Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Mohammed Nasiru Shuaibu, also spoke at the event, congratulating the awardees on their academic achievements and urging them to continue in the same direction.

The ceremony celebrated the promotion of six staff members to the rank of professor and the conferment of PhD degrees on nine others between 2020 and 2024. The Head of Department, Professor Rahanatu Lawal, attributed the feat to the growth of the department's postgraduate programs, which recently led to the graduation of over 100 candidates.

Professor Lawal expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their support, stating that the award ceremony aimed to serve as a morale booster for others. She also appreciated the support of her colleagues since her emergence as Head of Department.
