The warning followed the attention of the university management to the activities of individuals and platforms circulating misleading admission advertisements and claiming to facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate admission, Direct Entry, inter-university transfer, JUPEB/IJMB, screening, admission-list verification, clearance and other university-related services.
According to the university, some of the fraudulent individuals and platforms also direct prospective students and parents to make payments into personal bank accounts or communicate through unauthorised telephone numbers and social media accounts.
Achievers University dissociated itself from all such individuals, representations, advertisements and unauthorised platforms, urging applicants and parents to exercise caution when dealing with admission-related information.
The university advised applicants and parents not to make admission-related payments into the personal bank account of anyone claiming to be an admission officer, agent, staff member or representative of Achievers University.
It also warned against processing admission, clearance, transfer or other university services through unofficial websites, social media accounts, unsolicited messages or unauthorised personal contacts.
The university further urged applicants to verify the authenticity of any admission offer, payment request, advertisement, telephone call or online message bearing the name of Achievers University before responding or making any payment.
