AE-FUNAI Appoints Professor Daniel Nwachukwu as 4th Vice-Chancellor

In a landmark decision, the Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has appointed Professor Daniel C. Nwachukwu, a distinguished scholar in Cardiovascular Physiology, as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the university.

In a landmark decision, the Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has appointed Professor Daniel C. Nwachukwu, a distinguished scholar in Cardiovascular Physiology, as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The appointment, announced on Saturday, 20th December 2025, followed a rigorous and transparent selection process that involved more than 40 senior professors from various institutions.

Professor Nwachukwu currently serves in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, where he previously held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor in 2023.

  • Master’s Degree: University of Benin, 1997

Professor Nwachukwu’s academic career spans over 26 years, beginning with his appointment as a lecturer at the University of Nigeria in July 1999, culminating in his promotion to Professor in 2016.
