Al-Istiqama University Secures Full NUC Accreditation for 11 Academic Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Full Accreditation to 11 academic programmes at Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila (AUSU), Kano State. The decision follows a rigorous evaluation exercise conducted between November and December 2025. 

The accreditation status, which is valid for a period of five years, confirms that the programmes meet the NUC’s Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) regarding staff quality, facilities, and curriculum depth.

In a statement signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya, the university management described the achievement as a testament to its commitment to building a world-class centre of excellence. 

"This achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism of our academic and administrative staff," the Vice-Chancellor noted. He also extended profound appreciation to the Founder, Senator Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, OFR, and the University Governing Council for their strategic support.

With this development, AUSU has solidified its position as a destination for quality higher education in Northern Nigeria. The management has pledged to sustain and further enhance the high standards that earned the institution this prestigious recognition.
