American University of Nigeria Announces Faculty Promotion

 The American University of Nigeria (AUN) is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Agatha Ukata to Associate Professor of English-African Literature, effective May 2024.

Dr. Ukata, who previously served as Assistant Professor, has demonstrated exceptional scholarly achievements and dedication to the university. She is a renowned expert in African Literature and has published numerous papers, books, and creative works.

Her research interests include gender representation in literature and the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood). She has received prestigious awards, including the Wits Post-graduate Merit Award, Harold and Doris Tothill Award, and Conock Award.

Dr. Ukata has presented papers at international conferences, including the African Literature Association International Conference (ALA) at Yale University, USA, and Professor Wole Soyinka's International Conference at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
