ANWOPA Honours Digital Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University with Prestigious Peace Advocacy Award

The Association of Nigerian Women and Youth for Peace Advocacy (ANWOPA) has conferred a prestigious award on the Digital Vice-Chancellor Kashim Ibrahim University, Professor Babagana Gutti, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, commitment to innovation, and unwavering dedication to peace-building initiatives within and beyond the University community.

The award was presented during a colourful ceremony attended by members of the Association and University Management. In his remarks, the leadership of ANWOPA commended Professor Gutti for his visionary and transformative approach to University administration, particularly his strides in digital innovation, inclusive governance, and institutional reforms aimed at strengthening academic excellence.

According to ANWOPA, the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership style has significantly contributed to promoting harmony, youth engagement, women empowerment, and sustainable development within the University environment.

“Professor Gutti’s digital transformation agenda and inclusive policies have created opportunities for young people and women to thrive academically and socially. His administration reflects transparency, accountability, and a deep commitment to peace advocacy,” the Association stated.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Babagana Gutti expressed profound gratitude to ANWOPA for the honour, describing it as both humbling and inspiring. He reaffirmed that peace, innovation, and inclusiveness remain central pillars of his administration.

“This recognition is not just for me, but for the entire University community whose collective efforts continue to drive our achievements. It motivates us to work even harder in advancing education, promoting peaceful coexistence, and strengthening our engagement with society,” Professor Gutti said.

The Vice-Chancellor further reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding digital infrastructure, enhancing campus security, promoting gender inclusiveness, and fostering strong partnerships with civil society organisations and development partners.
