ASUU Kano University of Science and Technology Suspends Strike Action

 The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, has suspended its two-week warning strike, effective immediately.

The decision was made during a congress meeting on Saturday, June 1, 2024, following interventions from the Kano State House of Assembly Speaker, Honorable Members of the House Committee on Higher Education, and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State.

The union had declared the strike on May 29, 2024, to address pressing demands. However, with the state government's commitment to implementing agreements reached and allowing for further consultation, ASUU-KUST has agreed to suspend the strike.
