ASUU SSU Chapter Embarks on Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Sokoto State University (SSU) Branch, has resolved to commence an indefinite strike action, effective immediately.

 

The decision was made during a congress meeting held on February 26, 2025, at the Centre for Caliphate Studies. The union expressed dissatisfaction with the government's response to lingering issues, including concerns related to the university administration, governing council, and state government.

As a result, all academic activities, statutory meetings, examinations, supervision of students, marking, and grading of scripts have been suspended until further notice. The Strike Monitoring Committee has been directed to activate the strike protocol and ensure its strict enforcement.

The indefinite strike action is expected to impact academic activities at Sokoto State University, with students and staff awaiting a resolution to the ongoing dispute.
