ATBU Bauchi Announces Course Registration Deadline and Extension for SIWES Students

The Industrial Training and Coordinating Unit (ITCU) of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has issued a critical update regarding 400-level course registration and the submission of Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) documents.

In an internal memorandum released on February 19, 2026, the Directorate observed that a significant number of students currently on SIWES are yet to complete their mandatory 400-level course registration via the university's portal.

Strict Registration Deadlines

The University has set a firm deadline of March 4, 2026, for all students on SIWES to complete their online course registration. The ITCU warned that failure to register by this date will result in an automatic carry-over of the SIWES programme, potentially delaying graduation for affected students.

Extension for Acceptance Letters

In a move to support students facing logistical challenges at their places of attachment, the ITCU has extended the deadline for the submission of Acceptance Letters to March 20, 2026.

To streamline administrative processes, the unit directed that all submissions must now be accompanied by a copy of the student's 400-level Course Registration Form. Students are urged to comply strictly with this new timeline to avoid severe penalties.

SCAF Form Submission

Furthermore, the Directorate instructed all SIWES students to submit their SCAF Forms to the nearest Industrial Training Fund (ITF) office relative to their current place of attachment.

The memo, signed by the Deputy Registrar of the ITCU, Yahuza Haruna Gital, on behalf of the Director, emphasizes the university's commitment to ensuring all industrial training requirements are met within the 2025/2026 academic session.
