In a significant ceremony held on September 24, 2024, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi inducted 243 final-year students from the Faculty of Technology Education into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). The event took place at the Yelwa Campus, emphasizing the importance of maintaining educational standards in Nigeria.

During the induction, Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Kunya urged the TRCN to take decisive action against fraudulent educational institutions and the increasing number of unregistered teachers. He stated, “Identifying and eliminating these fraudulent institutions is crucial for ensuring quality education and effective knowledge transmission to future generations.”

Prof. Kunya praised the TRCN for its ongoing efforts to uphold quality teaching across the country and emphasized the need for collaboration with relevant agencies, including security forces, to address the issue of unregistered teachers, particularly in private institutions. He highlighted the government’s role in supporting the TRCN to fulfill its responsibilities, thereby securing the future of Nigeria's education system.

The Dean of the Faculty of Technology Education, Prof. Hassan Bello, reinforced the idea that teaching is not just a job but a calling that demands passion, patience, and dedication. Represented by Prof. Adamu Jibrin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Bello encouraged the newly inducted teachers to seize the opportunities that await them.
