Babcock University VC Decries Nigeria's Over-Reliance on Foreign Technology

Babcock University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ademola Tayo, has expressed concern over Nigeria's heavy reliance on foreign technology, citing it as a significant hindrance to the country's economic progress.

Speaking at an event, Tayo emphasized the need for Nigeria to develop its own software and AI-powered technologies to drive national development .

According to Tayo, Nigeria's continued dependence on foreign technology is unsustainable in today's knowledge-driven economy. The country's inability to produce its own technology has limited its economic growth, and Tayo believes that developing local technology can help reduce reliance on foreign solutions and create innovative products.
