The Bauchi State Scholarship Board has issued a press release disclaiming a fake press statement circulating in the public domain. The statement, allegedly signed by one Muhammad Saminu Bako, claiming to be the Director of Information, does not emanate from the board.

The board emphasizes that there is no office of Director of Information, and the statement should be disregarded. The administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad (Kauran Bauchi) remains committed to supporting indigenes in accessing quality education.

The board has scheduled a screening exercise for all scholarship applicants on August 25, 2024, to be conducted in respective schools.
