Bayero University, Kano Warns Against Fraudulent Social Media Account Impersonating Vice-Chancellor

In an official statement released on Sunday, 18th January 2026, the University categorically distanced the Vice-Chancellor from the account, warning that it is being utilized by unscrupulous individuals to misinform the public and perpetrate job recruitment scams. 

To protect the public from potential fraud, the University management clarified the following:

Official Communication: The Vice-Chancellor does not conduct official university business, including recruitment or procurement, via personal social media messages or unofficial digital platforms.

Recruitment Status: BUK explicitly stated that its recent recruitment exercise has been concluded. There is currently no ongoing recruitment at the institution.

Verified Channels: All official university matters and recruitment notices are disseminated exclusively through BUK’s verified official channels and mainstream media.

The general public is strongly advised to disregard any messages, requests for personal information, or demands for payment coming from this fake account. The University emphasized that it will not be held responsible for any financial loss or damages resulting from interactions with fraudulent platforms. 

"Please remain vigilant and verify all information through the University's official portal," the statement concluded.
