Members of the Borno State Agency for Great Green Wall, led by its Director General, Ambassador Usman Aliyu, have visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH, as part of efforts to follow up on the hospital’s orchard and plant new trees around newly constructed structures.
The Director General stressed the need for the hospital to nurture the trees and take good care of them in order to achieve the desired objectives for which they were planted.
Speaking on the importance of tree planting, Ambassador Aliyu called for further collaboration with UMTH to create a serene and pollution-free environment.
The Acting Chief Medical Director, Dr. Abubakar Abiso, shared his vision with the team and identified areas of partnership to ensure UMTH also keys into the Great Green Wall initiative.
The Director General and his entourage were also conducted round the hospital’s recreation areas and other green areas for assessment and recommendations on the way forward.
