Brilliant Young Woman Achieves Dual Degrees from Two US Universities in One Week
She worked as a Senior Special Assistant to First Lady Jill Biden and served as Trip Director for President Joe Biden during the Biden-Harris campaign. Currently, she is the Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations.
Ashley Nicome Williams has made history by earning two degrees from different US universities in the same week. In 2019, she received a Master's degree in political management from George Washington University and, just two days later, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
Williams, who graduated from Georgetown University in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in International Politics, faced challenges along her academic journey, including multiple rejections from schools. Despite these setbacks, she persevered and excelled academically while also working as an advisor and Director of Special Projects to the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues.

Reflecting on her experience, Williams explained that she paused her Master's program during her first year of law school to focus on her J.D. She later resumed and completed both programs simultaneously, even studying abroad in Tokyo.
Following her academic achievements, Williams has taken on significant roles in the White House.
