Confluence University of Science and Technology Holds Maiden Combined Convocation
The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara — located in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State — will hold its maiden combined convocation on Saturday, 29 November 2025.
Vice‑Chancellor Engineer Professor Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu announced that 31 students will be awarded first‑class honours while 235 others will receive various degrees, bringing the total number of graduands to 266 .
Addressing journalists at a pre‑convocation briefing in the university’s conference hall, Professor Salawu described the achievement as “a testament to both the brilliance of the students and the dedication of the faculty” and highlighted the institution’s rapid growth — now boasting eight faculties, a college, 44 academic departments and over 5,000 students within five years of establishment .
The university has leveraged strategic partnerships with institutions such as the Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI) and the National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO), and has developed innovative projects including an AI‑driven word translator into Igala, Ebira and Yoruba languages as well as deployable drones .
The convocation ceremony underscores CUSTECH’s commitment to producing highly skilled graduates in science, engineering, computing and related fields to meet national and global development needs .
