The agreement, signed on Wednesday, 8th January 2026, is aimed at expanding accommodation capacity and improving living conditions for the growing University community.
The partnership aligns with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha’s, vision of leveraging social capital to drive institutional development. Prof. Omenugha has consistently highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts that combine expertise, trust, and shared responsibility, positioning the hostel project as both an infrastructure and student-centered development initiative.
Representatives of Chuno Nigeria Limited described the collaboration as joining COOU “as a family,” emphasizing that the investment in Anambra State is deeply personal. They pledged to deliver the project to high technical and professional standards, aiming to enhance students’ living conditions and strengthen town-and-gown relations in the region.

The MoU marks a strategic milestone in COOU’s ongoing efforts to improve campus facilities, promote sustainable growth, and provide a supportive environment for student success.
