CUSTECH Organizes In- House Training for Registry Staff
The Registry Department of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, organized a one day in-house training session for its staff at the university's Large Lecture Theatre (LLT), focusing on Enhancing Skills in Minute Writing and Correspondence Management.
The University Registrar, Ms. Olufunke Hudson in her welcome address,commended the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, for his support towards the professional development of Registry Staff.
She encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training opportunity to improve their administrative competencies.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Engr.Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, expressed appreciation for the Registrar's exemplary leadership as pioneer Registrar of the institution.
Describing her as "the mother of the university," Prof. Salawu praised her dedication, diligence, and significant contributions to the growth of the university. He emphasized the critical role of the Registry Department, stating that "the Registry is the engine room of any university. When the Registry is upright, the university stands tall."
The training featured two eminent resource persons: Mr. Muhammed Jamiu Osihana, Deputy Registrar, Council Affairs, who spoke on "The Art of Minute Writing: Melting the Ice and Mastering the Skill," and Mr. Olubunmi John Mark, Assistant Chief Confidential Secretary in the Office of the Registrar, who delivered a presentation on "Efficient Handling of Correspondence and Operating a Good Filing System."
Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, Deputy Registrar and Chairman of the Registry Training Committee, commended both Speakers for their insightful presentations.
He expressed confidence that the training would enhance the performance and efficiency of the Registry Staff in executing their responsibilities.
Participants expressed gratitude for the initiative and looked forward to subsequent training sessions.
The Registrar disclosed that the in-house training would be conducted monthly to ensure continuous staff development.
