Dr. Opie Hands Over TETFund Desk Office (Academics) to Dr. Eneji at FCE Obudu, Highlights Legacy of Achievements

The Federal College of Education (FCE), Obudu, on Monday, 25th August 2025, hosted the formal handover of the TETFund Desk Office (Academics) to the newly appointed Desk Officer, Dr. Samuel Eneji.

The ceremony, held at the College’s TETFund office, featured prayers, goodwill messages, and reflections on the achievements of the outgoing Desk Officer, Dr. Opie.

The event opened with an uplifting prayer led by Dr. Igiri Irem Egwu, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. Opie to his successor. In his farewell remarks, Dr. Opie expressed gratitude to God for a peaceful and productive tenure, highlighting notable accomplishments including:

• Furnishing of the TETFund Desk Office.
• Establishment of a database for Academic Staff Training & Development (AST&D).
• Creation of a database for submission processes.
• Clearance of conferences and workshops.
• Strengthening relationships with TETFund.
• Prompt release of Teaching Practice, Conference, and AST&D funds.

Dr. Opie emphasized that these achievements were made possible through collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and advised Dr. Eneji to maintain strong interpersonal connections to succeed.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Samuel Eneji expressed heartfelt appreciation to God, the College Management, and particularly the Provost, Dr. Richard Ugbaha Utubaku, for the trust placed in him. He pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and called for the cooperation of staff to achieve greater milestones. Dr. Eneji also appealed to Dr. Opie to remain available for guidance when needed.

The handover ceremony was attended by key personalities of the College, including Mr. Paul I. Ogar, Chairman of COASSU; Dr. Aniashie Akpanke; Dr. Ambali; and Dr. Id… [attendance continued with other dignitaries], highlighting the significance of the occasion in the life of the institution.

The event reflects FCE Obudu’s commitment to continuity, academic excellence, and effective management of TETFund resources.
