DUFUTH CMD Commends Head of Nursing Services on Oncology Fellowship Achievement

The Chief Medical Director of David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH), Prof. Uzoma Agwu, has congratulated Nurse Eze Patience Umeh, Assistant Director of the Nursing Services Directorate, on her recent conferment as a Fellow by Examination by the Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria (ONS).

The fellowship was awarded during the 1st National Oncology Nursing Conference held in December 2025 at Babcock University, under the theme: “Oncology Nursing in the Spotlight: Celebrating Excellence and Inspiring Growth.” Nurse Umeh is now officially a Fellow of the Academy of Oncology Nursing (FAON).

Prof. Agwu lauded the achievement, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to continuous professional development and expressing delight at the growing number of departments and staff actively engaging with their professional bodies and pursuing fellowships.

Additionally, the CMD assured her support for departments or groups seeking photo sessions in professional attire, reflecting her encouragement of staff recognition and professional pride.
