The Dutse Students Association (DUSA), under the administration of Rufai Sakwaya (Barrister), has extended heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the outgoing Dutse Local Government Chairman, Malam Bala Usman Chamo, as his tenure comes to an end on Friday, June 28, 2024.

The Dutse Students Association (DUSA), under the administration of Rufai Sakwaya (Barrister), has extended heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the outgoing Dutse Local Government Chairman, Malam Bala Usman Chamo, as his tenure comes to an end on Friday, June 28, 2024.

In a farewell message, the association praised Hon. Bala Usman Chamo's exceptional leadership and his contributions to various sectors, including education, healthcare, sanitation, security, infrastructure, and youth development. They highlighted that his three-year tenure was unparalleled in the history of Dutse Local Government.

Some of the key achievements under Bala Usman Chamo's administration include:

1. Revival of Dutse Local Government Students Association (DUSA): Chamo re-established the student union, providing necessary resources and support.
2. Scholarships for Tertiary Students: Over 10,000 students benefited from scholarship programs initiated by his administration.
3. Support for Female Students in Nursing and Para-Medical Courses: Chamo sponsored female students to study at various nursing and medical colleges.
4. Financial Aid to Students at Bayero University, Kano: A grant of N30,000 was awarded to students to help with registration and accommodation fees.
5. D-Teach Program: An innovative initiative to reduce unemployment by employing facilitators with a monthly stipend of N30,000.
6. Sponsorship for Higher Education: Students were sponsored to study audiology in Kaduna and pursue IJMB courses at JICORAS Babura.
7. Infrastructure Development: Reconstruction of secondary schools and distribution of school uniforms and reading materials.


Rufai Sakwaya, the current DUSA President, emphasized the positive impact of Chamo's leadership on the student community and expressed both pride in the achievements and sadness at his departure. Sakwaya called on federal and state governments to provide Chamo with another opportunity to serve the public due to his proven dedication and effectiveness.
