EKSU and Ekiti Authorities Reassure Public of Safety Amid Viral Security Threats

Ekiti State University (EKSU) and local authorities have allayed fears over safety concerns raised in a viral video showing a suspected bandit threatening to attack the university and another institution.

EKSU's management emphasized that the institution is safe and secure, with security agencies and the university's internal security unit on high alert to prevent any breach .

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, also debunked reports of bandits invading a farmstead in his community, describing them as fake. He assured residents that there are no bandits or kidnappings in Ilawe Ekiti or on roads leading to the community.

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has assured residents that the state remains safe and peaceful, citing strengthened intelligence gathering and surveillance across borders and communities. He urged residents to support security agencies with credible intelligence, emphasizing community participation in achieving lasting security .
