Federal Character Commission Conducts Working Visit to FCE Special Oyo to Strengthen Institutional Compliance
The Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Hon. Abass Aleshinloye, conducted a high-level working visit to the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The visit was aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and ensuring the college’s continued adherence to the principles of equity and national spread.
Accompanying the Commissioner was the Oyo State Director of the Commission, Mr. Babanumi Muyiwa, along with a delegation of senior officials.

During the engagement, Hon. Aleshinloye reiterated the Commission’s mandate to oversee recruitment, appointments, and administrative processes to ensure they reflect Nigeria’s diversity. He commended the College management for their professionalism and warm reception, noting that such synergy is vital for national unity.
"The Commission remains steadfast in promoting equity and fairness," Hon. Aleshinloye stated. He further assured the College of the Commission's support in facilitating transparent processes for all future institutional engagements requiring federal character input.

In his response, the Provost of the College, Dr. A. R. Salami, described the visit as a significant gesture of goodwill. He reaffirmed that FCE (Special) Oyo has consistently prioritized inclusiveness in its operations and remains fully responsive to the Federal Character principle.
"We acknowledge the hand of fellowship extended to the College today," Dr. Salami remarked. "Our management is prepared to work even more closely with the Commission to sustain transparency and absolute compliance with national policies."
The visit concluded with a commitment from both parties to maintain an open channel of communication to foster a balanced and representative workforce within the institution.
