Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin Kowa: Acting Provost Inspects Staff Verification and "On-the-Spot" Admission Exercises

The Acting Provost of Federal College of Horticulture, Dadinkowa Gombe State, Dr. Umar A Umar, has inspected the ongoing staff verification and ON THE SPOT ADMISSION exercises at the institution.

Dr. Umar made an unannounced visit to the college library, where staff verification was underway, and to the Academic Secretary's office, where the ON THE SPOT ADMISSION process was ongoing, earlier today, Tuesday, 27th January 2026.

At the Staff Verification centre, Dr. Umar was impressed with the committee's organization and the staff turnout. The staff were arranged accordingly said the Establishment Secretary to the College Malam Sambo Ahmed, it was organized into categories: Registry staff on Registrar cadre first, followed by administration cadre, Executive cadre, clerical cadre, and con-Sec cadre. Dr. Umar commended the committee for their efforts, emphasizing the need for commitment to ensure the exercise's success.

The Acting Provost then visited the Academic Secretary's office to inspect the ON THE SPOT ADMISSION Process. The Admission Officer, Malam Aminu Inuwa, briefed him on the progress, highlighting that the number of applicants who applied has doubled the previous, to show that there is a great achievement and more students are still coming in.

Dr. Umar praised the committee's efforts and advised them to ensure staff availability to attend to applicants, avoiding situations where applicants arrive to find no one. He encouraged the team to address any challenges and focus on making the initiative a success, noting that academic institutions rely on student enrollment to function effectively.
