LASU Management Pays Condolence Visit to Badagry Kingdom Following the Transition of the Akran of Badagry
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on Monday, 26th January 2026, led members of the University Management on a condolence visit to Badagry Kingdom to commiserate with the good people of the kingdom on the demise of its revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, De Whenu Aholu Menu Toyi 1, OFR, JP, the Akran of Badagry Kingdom, who recently joined his ancestors.
They were accompanied on the visit by the Executive Chairman, Badagry Local Government, Honourable Babatunde Hunpe.
Addressing the Royal family and chieftaincy of Badagry Kingdom, Professor Olatunji-Bello extended the University’s deepest condolences to the people of Badagry Kingdom, the royal family, and the entire nation on the passing of the revered ruler.
She affirmed that his reign was marked by uncommon wisdom, peace, cultural preservation, and an unwavering commitment to education and community development. She added that he was a beacon of traditional authority blended with modern vision, whose counsel and leadership positively impacted generations, and Lagos State University mourns a revered monarch, father, and nation builder.
She prayed that his noble soul may rest in perfect peace.
