In a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education on Wednesday, the government said the resolution followed sustained engagement between the Ministry, the Oyo State Government, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), paving the way for teachers to return to classrooms and restore uninterrupted learning across the state.

Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the NUT for resolving the impasse through dialogue. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring every Nigerian child has access to quality education despite prevailing security challenges.
The ministry also praised teachers for their resilience and dedication, pledging continued collaboration with state governments, teachers’ unions, and security agencies to strengthen school safety and safeguard every child’s right to uninterrupted, quality education.
