On 25th February 2026, the Federal Ministry of Education officially launched the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project at Grundtvig Polytechnic.

The flag-off ceremony took place at the institution’s Lecture Hall, with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Eldad Domshak, Project Coordinator of the World Bank-funded IDEAS initiative, on behalf of the National Coordinator of the IDEAS/TVET Unit, Mrs. Blessing Ogu.
The IDEAS/TVET platform aims to equip students with market-relevant, competency-based skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurial capacity. Beneficiaries of the programme will have access to internships, mentorship opportunities, employment placements, and business starter packs.
Speaking at the event, officials encouraged students to take full advantage of the initiative, describing it as a strategic step toward strengthening technical and vocational education across the country. The programme underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering youth with practical skills, fostering entrepreneurship, and bridging the gap between education and employment.

The launch represents a significant milestone in equipping Nigerian youths with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive in the evolving labour market.
