Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Appoints New Dean and Departmental Heads

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, has approved the appointment of Dr. Sani Mohammed as the new Dean, School of Management Sciences, following his emergence in the recently conducted elections.
The appointment, conveyed in a letter dated 3rd December 2025 and signed by the Deputy Registrar Establishmentm Sa'idu Umar Katuzu, is to take effect from 8th December 2025 and will span a tenure of three years. The position became vacant after the former Dean, Dr. Lawan Cheri, was appointed Deputy Rector (Administration).
Meanwhile, the Rector has also approved the appointment of three new Heads of Department. They are:
Dr. Bala Salisu, Head, Department of Business Management
Muhammad Kaku, Head, Department of Public Administration
Shehu Abubakar Adam, Head, Department of Accountancy
Their appointments were similarly based on their victories in the recently concluded departmental elections. This was contained in a separate letter signed by the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), Saad Umar Katuzu, also dated 3rd December 2025. The appointments take effect from 8th December 2025 for a tenure of three years.
In addition, all appointees are to conclude their handover processes with immediate effect, while the handover for the Department of Accountancy is scheduled for 29th January 2026.
