Federal University Lokoja Partners with NBTS to Launch Student Blood Donor Club

The University Health Services, Federal University Lokoja, partnered with the Students Union Government and the National Blood Transfusion Service, Kogi State for a blood drive program and launching of blood donor club among the students.

In his opening remarks while declaring the program open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, encouraged the students to save lives by donating blood as a humanitarian duty.

The programme featured health talks by invited guests, including the Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Healthcare, Dr Mu'azu, ably represented by Dr Bola Kelvin Jonah, the Kogi State Chairman of the National Blood Transfusion Service, Mr Oguntuase Bode Jacob and also the Director of the University Health Services for FUL, Dr Mrs Chinenye Oche Otorkpa.

At the end of the blood drive programme, eligible and willing donors freely donated blood.
