FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor Affirms Commitment to World-Class Infrastructure as TETFund Conducts Project Inspection
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has reiterated the University’s unwavering commitment to providing quality educational facilities that promote holistic learning and serve a wide spectrum of users beyond its core academic disciplines.
Prof. Kehinde stated this today, January 26, 2026, while receiving the Assistant Chief Education Officer of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Mrs. Toyin Omoniwa, who was on an official visit to the University.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, FUNAAB’s developmental initiatives were deliberately structured to ensure that students from diverse fields of study, both within and outside the University, as well as members of the host community, have access to facilities and resources that enrich learning experiences beyond their primary areas of specialisation.
He stressed that the University remains committed to fostering holistic education by creating an enabling environment that supports academic excellence, leadership development and innovation. Prof. Kehinde added that FUNAAB would continue to expand and upgrade its facilities to meet increasing demand and extend the benefits to the entire University Community.
In her remarks during the Exit Meeting, Mrs. Omoniwa who was satisfied with the checks, explained that her visit was to assess and inspect procurement processes for projects funded under the 2023 and 2024 TETFund intervention disbursements at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS). She noted that the exercise formed part of TETFund’s statutory oversight responsibilities aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and the effective utilisation of intervention funds.
Present at the meeting were the Director, CENTS, Prof. Sakiru Akinbode; Ag. Director, Directorate of Research, Innovations and Partnerships (DRIP), Dr. Oluwagbemiga Adeleye; Deputy Director, CENTS, Dr. Abiodun Oyelakin, and the Principal Assistant Registrar (DRIP), Mrs. Oluwayemisi Arigbede.
