From Classroom to Farm: CUSTECH Agricultural Science Students Apply Knowledge in Practical Farming

Students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, have once again demonstrated that learning goes beyond the classroom.

The students were at the University Farm today, where they applied their classroom knowledge in practical agricultural activities. The exercise involved the application of fertiliser to crops and monitoring their growth and development.

At the farm, the students are cultivating a variety of crops, including maize, cowpea, groundnut and cassava, providing them with valuable hands-on experience in modern agricultural practices.

The students were led to the farm by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Abdulrahman Danuwa Suleiman.

With the crops expected to be ready for harvest in the coming weeks, the practical sessions continue to expose students to the realities of farming, crop production and food security.

The Dean, stated that "At CUSTECH, we do not limit learning to the classroom. We believe in learning by combining sound theoretical knowledge with practical experience to produce graduates who are ready to contribute meaningfully to agriculture and national development".
