Gsu International Relations Students Visit Ntac On Study Tour

Students of the Department of International Relations, Gombe State University, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, embarked on an academic study tour to the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, NTAC, Headquarters in Abuja to gain practical insights into Nigeria's foreign policy and international development cooperation.

Addressing the students, the Director-General of NTAC, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, represented by the Deputy Director of Administration, Ambassador Gwendy O. Omijeh, highlighted the importance of soft power diplomacy in advancing Nigeria's global influence. He noted that Nigeria's longstanding commitment to international cooperation and South-South collaboration has earned the country goodwill and strengthened its standing in multilateral institutions.

The leader of the delegation and Lecturer in the Department of International Relations, Dr. Benjamin Isa, commended NTAC for its significant role in implementing Nigeria's foreign policy and promoting South-South Cooperation, explaining that the Agency was selected for the study tour because of its relevance to the students' academic training.

The students also received presentations on the history, mandate, structure, operations, achievements and challenges of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, followed by an interactive session with senior officials of the Agency.

The study tour formed part of the Department's commitment to bridging classroom learning with practical exposure to institutions shaping Nigeria's international relations.
