NOUN Opens Virtual Examination Portal for 2026_2 Semester, Sets ₦5,000 Fee Per Course

The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, has announced provisions for Virtual Examination in the 2026_2 semester for eligible students who are unable to sit for physical examinations at study centres.

According to the University, the virtual option is designed primarily to accommodate students in the diaspora who cannot physically attend examinations at any NOUN study centre in Nigeria.

The University also stated that students residing in Nigeria may be considered under the virtual arrangement only where there are genuine and compelling exceptional circumstances. Such cases may include serious medical conditions or other situations that warrant special consideration.

NOUN noted that students applying on medical or other exceptional grounds will be required to submit valid supporting evidence. This may include a medical report from an authorised medical facility or other relevant official documentation.

The University emphasized that approval for virtual examination is not automatic and will be subject to institutional review and final approval.

Management fixed the fee for the 2026_2 Virtual Examination at ₦5,000 per course. The fee is non-refundable if a student fails to meet the virtual examination requirements.

NOUN advised eligible and approved students to follow official guidelines on registration, payment, and examination procedures as communicated by the University.

The University cautioned that payment of the ₦5,000 fee does not guarantee approval for students who do not meet the eligibility criteria for virtual examination.
