Redeemer’s University Holds Three-Day Orientation for Fresh Students

Redeemer’s University, Ede, has organised a three-day orientation programme for newly admitted students for the 2026/2027 academic session to familiarise them with the university’s academic, administrative, spiritual and social environment.

The programme, held from September 21 to 23, 2026, at the university auditorium, was anchored by the Directorate of Student Support and Services. It began each day with compulsory morning devotion for all fresh students.

A major highlight of the opening day was an address on the vision and mission of the university by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Peter Aderonmu, following an introductory session led by the Acting Director of DSSS, Dr. Basiru Adetomiwa.

The interactive sessions focused on areas essential to students’ transition into university life, including students’ welfare and hostel administration, chaplaincy and spiritual growth, e-learning, library resources, examination and academic records, and the course unit system.

Day two featured presentations on the university administration system, bursary and e-payment platform, General Studies Programme, campus security, sporting activities and student health. Students also received guidance on substance abuse, examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct and their consequences.

The wife of the Vice-Chancellor, Pastor Mrs. Hannah Akindele, also engaged the fresh students, emphasising the need for all-round godliness and excellence as essential components of a successful academic pursuit.

The final day focused on academic excellence and career pursuit, with a session on “You and CASEC” led by the Acting Director of CASEC, Dr. Timilehin Shaba. The orientation concluded with a campus tour.

The programme reflects the university’s commitment to shaping new students in line with its values, academic expectations, support systems, regulations and opportunities as they begin their academic journey, with the aim of graduating students who are excellent in learning and character.
