Newly Established Centre for Gender Studies and Girl-Child Education Organizes Maiden Workshop on Career Decision-Making for 320 Female Students

The College has successfully organised a Career Decision-Making Workshop for 320 female students selected from Public Senior and Junior Secondary Schools, Private Schools and Tertiary Institutions within Nguru Town.

The workshop was aimed at equipping the participants with knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to enable them to make informed and reliable career decisions.

Speaking at the workshop, the Provost, Professor Ali Manzo Usman, commended the participants for their enthusiasm, discipline, and active participation throughout the programme.  

He encouraged them to remain committed to their studies, strive for excellence, and pursue their career aspirations with determination, integrity, and self-confidence.

Professor Manzo reaffirmed the College Management's unwavering commitment to empowering Girl-Child Education through quality education, mentorship and capacity-building initiatives.

The Provost of Jigawa State College of Education and Legal Studies, Ringin, Dr. Jummai Ali Kazaure, served as the Chairperson of the Occasion. The Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre Nguru, Prof. Hadiza Abdullahi Usman, served as a Guest Speaker, while Magistrate Hauwa Abdulsalam served as a Second Guest Speaker.

The workshop attracted several distinguished personalities, including Heads of Security Agencies in Nguru, District Heads, Education Secretary of Nguru Local Government Education Authority, LGEA, Provost, Federal School of Nursing and Midwifery Nguru, Provost, Galtima Mai Kyari College of Health Sciences and Technology Nguru, distinguished Imams and Ulama, stakeholders, other traditional leaders, Supervisory Councillor on Education, members of the College Management, staff, students and other invited guests.

As part of the closing ceremony, Certificates of Attendance were presented to all 320 participants in recognition of their successful participation in the workshop.  

Awards of Excellence were also presented to twelve female stakeholders in appreciation of their outstanding contributions, unwavering support, and commitment to the promotion of Girl-Child Education and Community Development.

During the Second Session of the workshop, papers were presented by Malama Hussaina Garba and Malama Aisha Ahmed Rufa'i.

The workshop concluded successfully with a renewed commitment to strengthening career guidance and mentorship, thereby empowering young girls to make informed career choices and become responsible leaders and valuable contributors to society in the years ahead.
