The entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerian youth took centre stage on November 5, 2025, at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), as the institution’s Student Union Government (FUNAABSU) hosted the maiden edition of the FUNAAB Hustle Carnival — a vibrant festival dedicated to celebrating creativity, innovation, and student enterprise.

From fashion designers and bakers to digital creators and tech innovators, students turned the university campus into a lively hub of ideas, commerce, and collaboration. The event went beyond entertainment; it demonstrated how students are redefining youth empowerment through self-driven initiatives and creative problem-solving.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the event, the Vice-President of FUNAABSU, Comrade Simbiat Abiola, said the carnival was conceived to promote self-sufficiency among students and to encourage them to convert their talents into sustainable businesses. “The Hustle Carnival is about celebrating the ingenuity of FUNAAB students. We want our colleagues to see that their talents are not just hobbies but potential sources of livelihood,” she explained.

Comrade Abiola described the event as the beginning of a new tradition that would foster a thriving culture of innovation and enterprise on campus. “This is the first of its kind, and we intend to make it bigger and better in the next edition,” she added.
