Federal University of Environment and Technology Partners with Rivers State University

The Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET), Koroma/Saakpenwa, and Rivers State University (RSU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote collaborative excellence and enhance educational standards.

The MOU, signed on August 28, 2025, provides a framework for exchanging human resources, facilities, and knowledge between the two institutions.

The MOU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation, fostering academic and research collaboration between FUET and RSU.

The Vice Chancellor of FUET, Prof. Prince Ch Mmom, and the Registrar, Dr. Douglas Monday Mpigi, were taken on a tour of RSU's digital facilities, showcasing the university's technological advancements.

The Vice Chancellor of RSU, Prof. Isaac Zeb-obipi, expressed his commitment to providing support to FUET's new leadership, offering assistance in areas where needed, and wishing them success in their new role.

The Federal University of Environment and Technology, established in February 2025, is located in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State. Its primary objectives include training skilled professionals in environmental sciences, engineering, and technology to address oil-related environmental degradation, promoting sustainable development, and preparing students to monitor, manage, and mitigate environmental degradation.

This partnership is expected to enhance the academic and research capabilities of both institutions, contributing to the development of the region and providing opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills in various fields.
