Fedpoly Damaturu Appoints Acting Director of Physical Planning, Establishes New Department

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello, has approved the appointment of Tpl Adamu Musa Sakwa as the Acting Director of Physical Planning. This appointment, which takes effect from March 4, 2025, is based on the confidence reposed in Sakwa by the Rector .
Sakwa, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning (1992) and a Master's degree in Environmental Management from the University of Maiduguri (2014). He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (MNITP) and Nigerian Environmental Science (MNES).
In a related development, the Rector has established a new Policy and Transferancy Department, appointing Dr. Yakubu Mingy as its pioneer Director. Mingy's appointment, which takes effect from February 27, 2025, is also based on the confidence reposed in him by the Rector.
Dr. Mingy, a seasoned academic, holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of Technology Yola (1991), a Master's degree in Geophysics from Ahmadu Bello University (2001), and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Science, Malaysia (2018).
