FG Orders Immediate Closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges Over Security Concerns

The Federal Ministry of Education has directed the immediate closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across the country following rising security challenges in some regions.

In a circular dated 21st December 2025 and signed by Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education, the Ministry stated that the decision was approved by the Honourable Minister of Education to prevent potential security breaches and ensure the safety of students and staff.

According to the circular, principals of the affected schools have been instructed to enforce the closure with immediate effect and ensure full compliance.
