Fire Engulfs Career Service Centre, Classrooms at Kano State Polytechnic

A significant fire incident occurred after working hours yesterday evening at the School of General and Remedial Studies, Kano State Polytechnic. The blaze caused extensive damage, destroying the newly established Career Service Center (CSC), the Central Students Union Government (CSUG) Secretariat, several staff offices, and six lecture classrooms. 

Polytechnic officials, including the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk; Registrar, Mukhtar Ibrahim Bello; and the Director of the CSC, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Abubakar, were present at the scene and expressed deep grief over the loss of the entire building.

The Rector commended the swift response of the Kano State Fire Service, whose quick action helped contain the incident.

The management is currently awaiting the official report from the Kano State Fire Service Command to determine the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
