FMC Nguru Records First Dialysis Session After Remodeling of Dialysis Complex

Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, Yobe State, has achieved a major milestone with the successful conduct of its first dialysis session following comprehensive renovation and remodeling of the Dialysis Complex.

The landmark event marks the commencement of full clinical activities at the upgraded facility, which is expected to improve access to life-saving renal care for patients with kidney-related ailments across Yobe State and the North-East region.

The development reflects the centre’s drive to improve healthcare infrastructure and expand specialized services under Medical Director Prof. Hadiza Abdullahi Usman. FMC Nguru remains one of Nigeria’s foremost tertiary institutions dedicated to quality, patient-centred care.

To assess readiness, a management team led by Head of Clinical Services and Training, Dr. Ukhasha Ibrahim, inspected the facility. The team observed procedures, interacted with staff, and reviewed operational processes to ensure patient safety and care standards.

Dr. Ibrahim commended Dialysis Unit staff for their professionalism, describing the successful session as a major step toward strengthening renal care services. He reaffirmed management’s commitment to initiatives that improve patient outcomes and expand access to specialized treatment.
