Fountain University Approves Implementation of New FGN-ASUU Salary Structure for Staff
The Governing Council of Fountain University Osogbo has approved the implementation of the new Federal Government–Academic Staff Union of Universities (FGN–ASUU) salary structure for its staff members, in a move aimed at strengthening staff welfare and institutional efficiency.

The decision was reached during the Council meeting held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, under the chairmanship of Awa Ibraheem and was later communicated to the university community by the Vice-Chancellor, Olayinka Ramota Karim.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the approval represents a strategic effort to improve staff motivation, promote equity, and align the institution’s remuneration framework with prevailing national standards within the university system.

She noted that the decision reflects the Governing Council’s responsiveness to staff welfare concerns and its commitment to sustaining a productive academic environment. Karim added that improved remuneration is essential for attracting and retaining qualified personnel in an increasingly competitive higher education sector.
The Vice-Chancellor further stated that the Council had carefully assessed the financial implications of the new salary structure and expressed confidence in the university’s capacity to implement it sustainably through prudent financial management and strategic planning.
The implementation marks a key development in the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance staff welfare, strengthen institutional stability, and reinforce its commitment to academic excellence.
