The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have debunked a viral report claiming 16 prospective NYSC members died in a road crash in Gombe State.

FRSC spokesperson Janet Kassa stated that thorough checks across units and commands revealed no evidence of the incident, labeling the report as likely fabricated to attract attention. The Gombe Police Command confirmed no hospital or agency reported such an incident.

NYSC Public Relations Officer Jennifer Laha questioned the authenticity of circulating images, citing suspicious spellings and AI-like details. The NYSC orientation camp in Gombe has opened as scheduled, with activities running smoothly .
